Marg Peck - BeachI was led to chiropractic as a result of my own teenage struggles with health, energy and body pain. Chiropractic is holistic and vitalistic in philosophy and considers that each person contains the innate wisdom they need for healing, well-being and living their full potential. Along with this health philosophy, my undergraduate chiropractic training was neuroscience and medically focused, so I was blessed with the best of both worlds.

I travelled to the UK immediately after graduation and spent time at the British School of Osteopathy.  I have always explored the edges of my field and where it relates to other approaches to health care and well-being.

I have a passion for the realm of the living breathing body and the body-mind connection: how the body influences our thinking and being and how our thoughts, attention and intention influence our bodies and lives.

My further studies have included craniosacral therapy, the Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Movement and Learning, dance therapy, mindfulness and Non-Violent Communication.  I have spent many years studying food and nutrition, gut health, immune function and the link between gut health and the brain.  I maintain my own daily yoga and mindfulness practice and attend pilates sessions.  Having regular coaching helps me to keep on track, stay inspired and develop my practice.

Treatment Approach

images-1I will share tools and techniques to build resilience, reduce stress and increase your creativity and joy.

Health and well-being require a balance of the physical, biochemical, psycho-emotional and spiritual. We are more like a living ecosystem than a machine.  The mechanistic model of health and disease is limited and I work with vitality, interconnectedness, systems thinking and innate wisdom.  My approach to coaching takes into consideration the physical, biochemical,  psycho-emotional, social and spiritual aspects of each person.

Employment History

I graduated in 1986 and travelled to the UK to study at the Anglo-European Chiropractic College and the British School of Osteopathy.  I worked in various Chiropractic practices in the UK.  I returned to Australia in 1897 and started practice in a large WorkCover rehabilitation organisation as a case manager and physical therapist.  In 1990 I began teaching at RMIT in the undergraduate  Chiropractic program supervising in teaching clinics and lecturing in rehabilitation, ethics and radiology.

In 1992 I opened a multidiscipline, multi-practitioner practice in Melbourne.  I moved to the country in 1998 to slow down and focus on mothering two lively and dynamic boys. I continued alone in private practice until 2010 when I created Healing Well Castlemaine with a group of like-minded health professionals. Apart from periods of maternity leave I have been in practice continuously since 1986.
